Auf dem Weg dorthin machten wir einen Stop in Gananoque um eine\u00a0 2 1\/2 st\u00fcndige Bootstour durch die 1000 Islands zu machen.<\/p>\n<p>In Wirklichkeit sind es 1864 Inseln, die im St. Lawrence Strom liegen und in der letzten Eiszeit entstanden sind. Zwei Drittel auf kanadischer, ein drittel auf Amerikanischer Seite. Die Grenze verl\u00e4uft im Zickzack durchs Wasser und es wurde einst festgelegt, dass keine Insel geteilt werden sollte. So kam es, dass wir heute auch durch amerikanisches Wasser gefahren sind. Zum einen konnte man das auf Google Maps sehen und zum anderen hatten wir zeitweise amerikanisches Handynetz.<\/p>\n<p>Einige der H\u00e4user bzw. Inseln mit Haus stehen zum Verkauf. Ich habe spa\u00dfeshalber mal geschaut &#8211; ab 500.000$ ist ein Haus auf einer gr\u00f6\u00dferen Insel zu haben. M\u00f6chte man hingegen eine Insel f\u00fcr sich alleine, sind mindestens 1,5 Millionen $ f\u00e4llig.
